Kate and Roger moved to France in 1992 with their new born baby. Having spent the previous five years working as Hostess and Skipper on sailing yachts in Greece and Turkey, the Mediterranean lifestyle left them with a need for sun and the great outdoors which is what spurred their move from the North of France to the Languedoc in 2001. It was the beauty of Lagrasse and its artistic community that captured their hearts.

Roger trained at Central School of Art where he specialised in ceramics before having his own studio in London but his adventurous spirit eventually took him away travelling to South America where he organised a three month canoe trip up an unexplored tributary of the Amazon. A few years after his return he became head of the sailing team of the Fairbridge Drake charity, working with underprivileged adolescents, many from the probation services taking them on 5 day sailing courses on the east coast of Britain. Now Roger sails for pleasure and keen sailors may be able to join him for the day on his 23ft yacht which is moored on the coast.

Kate trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and then worked as a stage manager for various theatre companies. Over the years her wanderlust took her travelling to America, New Zealand, India and Australia where she worked as a 'jillaroo' on a cattle station. On her return she bought a horse and rode the length of Britain from Land's End to John O'Groats. She travelled off road carrying her tent with her. She now has two horses of her own and loves riding through the vineyards and the Corbieres hills. Kate is keen to have experienced riders join her.

"We feel privileged to live in such beautiful surroundings and lucky to have found the Languedoc; such an unspoilt part of France. We feel very proud of what we have created here and are delighted to be able to share this with our guests. It gives us great pleasure to be able to facilitate a wonderful holiday." Kate & Roger
